About Rookie Startups and Young Area Fixers Rookie Startups specializes in education and development of entrepreneurial skills, and each year we provide over 2000 young people the opportunity to participate in our various programs. Through our proven method, developed in collaboration with researchers at the Stockholm School of Economics, we equip young people with the tools to succeed in the job market and in life.

The Young Area Fixers program is designed for young people to make their voices heard by working on community development and taking their own initiatives to positively influence society. The project is carried out in collaboration with municipalities and property companies. During the program, young people work on developing their local area. The tasks are divided into two areas: about 30% will involve organizing social activities for residents in the area, such as activity days for children or IT meetings for seniors. The remaining time, which constitutes about 70%, participants will perform light maintenance of residential areas, e.g., painting fences and planting.

🚀 Your mission as a mentor during the program

• Be responsible for mentoring participants in practical tasks related to enhancing the physical environment.

• Train participants in social entrepreneurship and concept development.

• Educate young people in theoretical aspects and lead practical workshops.

• Be responsible for daily coaching of participants, both individually and in groups.

• Ensure that participants feel safe and included during the program weeks.

• Along with the project manager, maintain ongoing dialogue with the municipality, property companies, and property managers to ensure good delivery of the program.

• Motivate young people to do their best during their summer job.

• Ongoing documentation of the process and final reporting at the end of the program.

The goal is for young people to leave this job with new insights on how to drive positive change in society, take their own initiatives, and dare to step outside their comfort zone.

• Is interested in community development and enjoys driving projects.

• Loves to work practically with everything from painting, planting to maintenance.

• Is attentive, pedagogical, and has an easy time building relationships.

• Is not afraid of new challenges or responsibilities and prefers to see solutions rather than problems.

• Understands what it means to educate and coach young people in a pedagogical way.

• Is motivated by seeing people develop and reach their full potential.

• Has good communication skills and feels at home on stage.

• Is at least 20 years old.

Meritorious

• If you have previous experience in educational work, camps/youth activities, or gardening/park maintenance.

• B driver's license.

• Have practical/theoretical experience of taking something from idea to finished concept.

Scope Project employment full-time for 3 weeks during the dates 15/6-2026 - 3/7-2026, you will be off on public holidays. In addition, you should be able to work a few days before the program and participate in a staff training during the spring.
